Greg Chappell Resigns - Bingo !!!!!

Greg Chappell had resigned today evening from the post of the Indian Cricket coach. This, I believe, is one of the best news for Indian Cricket only second to India lifting the World Cup in 1983.

During a 22 month stint as a Coach For Indian Cricket, Greg has been a perfect recepie not for the team but for the media. Where John Wright had taken the Indian team to a competitive unit, Greg has played on the ancient rules - Divide & Rule! New methods for improving performance is okay, but what about the use of technology for dividing the team?

Agreed, some attitudes had to be changed, but wasnt there a better way for dealing with it? The rift with Sourav Ganguly & his comeback later, proved that Ganguly had allowed his performance to speak, whereas, Chappell used the electronic media just to be on the front page. His vision-less approach & his inability to motivate players is also one of the major reasons for India's debacle at the World Cup. Amidst the confusion of getting new talent, we have lost performers like Irfan Pathan & Mohd. Kaif. He has had rifts with Sourav Ganguly, Virendra Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, & almost everyone.

He also had his unstoppable tongue flown on Sachin Tendulkar, the cricketing legend of India. I guess many of us know that Tendulkar is the same man who, while returning from his father's funeral in the 1999 World Cup, to win matches for his country, had his baggage torn apart by the airport authorities & inspite of all these insults, he allowed his bat to speak & scored 140 not out in the immediate match. A man who has been so committed & soft-spoken for the past 17 years has been called as a mafia by an alien person, that too on our land? Greg, you had to pay for this!

Just to let you know Greg, that, this aint the India of 1920's with fights between the Congress & The Muslim League! India, is much stronger than the politics that you have played. You may have earned a lot of revenue from the BCCI as the most paid coach among all countries, but Greg, you have not earned any respect from India. But still, we, as Indians, wont use slang languages for you. We would just like to say, Thanks Greg, for your services !

I'm sure most of the indians would have felt relieved after hearing the news of chappel's resignation.but at the same time we should also try to understand that he is not the only person to be blamed for the disaster of indian cricket. Every coin has two sides. A teacher can only prepare Students to do well in their exams but he cannot write papers for them.its student who has to deliver finally. and I think Our so called greats performed very poorly in their tests and they are the one to be blamed for that. now the time has come that our seniors should thinkover and try to come out with a effective solution.
